My eyes are green like grass,

and my smile is small and timid.

More about Me

I have 3 sisters,

and 1 brother.

We live in a place called Afghanistan.

There are many mountains,
and men with guns.

Father says they are doing God’s work,

and defending our country.

Mother stays silent.

Often times, I hear her weeping.

I think it’s because she misses my baby brother.

We lost him when she was giving birth.

There is really nothing interesting about me,

except that I am the only girl in my family who can read.

My dream is to become a teacher.

I write my thoughts in a small journal.
